This information comes from AA Andrews, informative book, The First Settlement of the Upper Murray. The last half of the book contains a list of the station holders from 1835 to 1845.

However, I have only listed the squatters from 1835 to 1840, these being the years when the land was taken up with incredible speed.

I apologise in advance that I missed 2 squatters in my attempt to create this map. They are; Nariel (1839) held by James Hassall and Cookardinia (1840) held by John Post.

Please be aware that there were many more squatters than this map shows. To the north of the map and east along the coast would also be heavily occupied by 1840. As would the area around Melbourne including Mount Macedon and along the south coast towards Portland. If I can find a list of names and locations such as the one AA Andrews supplied in his book then I will add them to the map.
